DONATIONS, SPONSORSHIPS AND VOLUNTEERING

A voluntary and essential service to the community.

We rely on membership fees, donations and sponsorships to keep our equipment in good condition, allow our Nippers, Juniors and Senior lifeguards to compete against other clubs and to keep our club house running.  Your donations also help ensure we are able to provide the highest level of service to Llandudno Beach. There are many ways to get involved.

Involved in Nippers

How can I assist?

It is our aim to keep Nippers a proactive, involved and exciting bunch of individuals. This can only be achieved if we have an enthusiastic support team – that means you!
There are many areas in which you can contribute – the more helpers there are, the less onerous it becomes for everyone (not to mention that the kids secretly love having their folks involved!)

Administration & Communication

Paperwork for tests and competitions, communication between the club and the parents, general administrative functions, newsletters etc.

Training

Assisting with training on a Sunday morning and/or Wednesday evening at the beach. This can be beach work (flags, sprints, beach runs, relays), sea work (malibu, body boards, duck-diving, sea swims), theory (first aid, general safety, signals) and pool (supporting kids doing their swim tests).

Fundraising & Sponsorship

Major fundraising – we need to fund our kit, our craft/equipment, SA champs (in PE this year – transport, accommodation, food, kit)… and when we host events such as WP Champs and 8 Man Classic or Nipper Classic.
On-going fundraising – supplying healthy food at competitions and/or manning the food table, washing skull caps after training sessions, and raffle sheets and prizes when necessary.
Sponsorship – this is preferable for the whole club so all benefit, in terms of kit production, signage, craft repair, renovations to improve the club and/or a coffee machine.

Competitions

Transport of craft & equipment to various other clubs, managing and/or co-ordinating an age group or assisting with craft readiness and movement of craft between arenas, etc.
Awards (tests for each level)
Ensuring your child (any friends, more eyes the better) has his/her swim time captured before the test dates, lift and/or accompany Nippers to the test, help ensuring our safety officers’ presence.

Craft

Keeping the craft in good condition – all craft, especially the Malibus that need ongoing maintenance. Sourcing additional craft, waxing up craft for training and competitions and mostly educating your children the respect and importance of all craft.
