At Llandudno, we’re all about keeping our beach safe and our community active.
Guided by the principles of vigilance and service, our lifeguards are here to protect everyone who enjoys the ocean. We also run fun and challenging lifesaving programs for all ages – from Nippers to Juniors to Seniors – where our coaches help shape the lifeguards of tomorrow.
Keeping Our Beach Safe
Llandudno Beach is not only visually stunning, with its white sand and clear aquamarine water, but also holds Blue Flag status.
This international recognition is awarded to beaches that meet high standards for environmental care, safety, education, and accessibility.
Trained lifeguards are an essential requirement for maintaining this status. Our lifeguards patrol the beach during the season, ensuring the safety of all beachgoers.
We take great pride in the fact that there has never been a drowning on Llandudno Beach while under our watch.

Our Nippers programme is all about energy, learning, and fun. It’s packed with beach fitness, sea safety skills, and exciting challenges — all designed to build confidence in the ocean and develop the lifesavers of tomorrow.If your child is a strong swimmer between the ages of 8 and 14 and keen to get involved, we’d love to have them join the team!

Dedicated Lifeguards at Llandudno Beach
Our trained volunteers patrol Llandudno Beach each summer, keeping beachgoers safe. Lifeguarding takes more than swimming. It demands fitness, certification, and real commitment. If you’re 14–18, a strong swimmer, and passionate about helping others, join us. We offer training to help you become part of our lifesaving team.
