This is an Open competition which focuses on the more rescue orientated events and includes Rescue Tube Rescue, Reel Alarm, Board Rescue and Craft Rescue.  Each club may enter a team of up to 10 lifeguards.  Each of the four events will be run 3 times during the event and prizes are issued for the winners in each category.

COMPETITION OVERVIEW 2011

The Rescue Competition will see LWP Clubs taking on each other in standard Rescue Events namely Reel Alarm, Craft Rescue, Tube Rescue and Board Rescue with rules as laid out in the LSA Competition Manuel.

Clubs will be able to enter as many teams as they like to be contested only in the Open Age Group but in both genders Male and Female. Juniors and Seniors with JLA or LA qualifications will be able to enter the Event but remember all compete together in Open Age. (JLA who are 16 and have a 2011 SA Champs Retest will be able to compete for this competition only till you do your “upgrade”)

Competitors may take part in 1 or all 4 Events if they so wish in deferent team makeups as per LSA Manual Rules.

Points will be given to top 3 teams of each club to a Club Aggregate as per LSA Manual (again)

Llandudno will try source a sponsor for some Team Prizes, but this is not guaranteed.

Female competitors will be allowed to compete in mixed teams if they have no fellow female competitors to fill a team. In the event less then 3 Female Teams have been entered to Female Events they will contest with and against the Male events.

Female Craft Rescue is not a sanctioned LSA Event but we will contest it at this Competition for fun purposes and the points will be scored to the Club aggregate.

Note: New Rule for Reel Alarm is the patient carry is now per and as the  Tube Rescue drag.  Any 2 of the 3 linesmen may go down and collect the patent from the rescuer, rescuer not to release the patient before contact by the linesmen/carriers and then drag over the finish line.
