                                      Llandudno Beach

Llandudno Beach is one of the Cape's most beautiful beaches, surrounded by large granite boulders and overlooked by mountains. It is a popular surfing spot, but the swimming can be treacherous, with rough seas and extremely cold water. Llandudno has lifeguards on duty during the summer season, operated by the Llandudno Surf Lifesaving club.

Only 18 km from the centre of Cape Town and approached by one of the most scenic drives, over Suikerbossie Hill from Hout Bay or in the other direction from Camps Bay, along Victoria Road, lies Llandudno beach, one of the most secluded and beautiful beaches in the city.

The beautiful beach, renowned for its white sands, crisp blue waters and giant boulders is arguably one of the most photogenic in Cape Town and a favourite for beach sports like volleyball, beach rugby, surfing; a great deal of sun-worshipping and a preferred picnic spot for families.

The beach remains unspoiled and the countryside fynbos stretches off in both directions, largely untouched. A 20 minute walk from Sunset Rocks brings one to Sandy Bay, and a five minute drive takes you over the hill from Llandudno to the village of Hout Bay.
