Voluntary duties are performed on Llandudno beach from the first weekend of November until the Easter weekend in April including all public holidays. Club Duties are on Saturdays from 13h30 to 18h00 and Sundays from 09h30 to 18h00.

In addition, our lifeguards are employed by the City of Cape Town to patrol the beach on weekdays during peak summer months.

The commitment and professionalism of the Llandudno lifeguards has transformed a once notoriously dangerous beach into one of the safest and most popular beaches in South Africa.

Due to extreme surf and beach conditions, we have very busy summer seasons.

Llandudno Surf receives regular praise from Lifesaving Western Province for the club’s impressive rescues statistics and its excellent duty attendance record. It is not uncommon for our members to perform off-duty rescues in the event of an emergency.
